Texas-based EDSCO Fasteners LLC has announced that it will move its North Carolina manufacturing facility from 300 Dalton Avenue, Charlotte to Harrisburg, NC by the end of the first quarter of 2015. The company will relocate to a new facility developed specifically for EDSCO by Galvan Industries, Inc., adjacent to Galvan’s headquarters and manufacturing plants.

All of EDSCO’s 25 Charlotte employees – production, management and quality control personnel – will move to the new facility located at 7320 Millbrook Road in Harrisburg.

EDSCO manufactures anchor bolts and fasteners for large steel structures including energy transmission towers, communications towers and transportation structures such as signs and bridges. Most EDSCO products manufactured in North Carolina are hot dip galvanized by Galvan Industries for long-term protection against rust and corrosion.

Galvan is developing the new facility with input from EDSCO as part of a strategic partnership agreement between the two companies. EDSCO will lease the facility from Galvan. Because EDSCO’s products, including steel foundation bolts and anchor bolt cages, can weigh thousands of pounds, the new location of the plant will cut shipping costs significantly and streamline production.

“The ability to move into a new, state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility that is close to one of our key outside service providers allows us to pursue improved efficiencies in a number of different areas,” said EDSCO president Jeff Pieper. “It should reduce costs and provide a more effective platform from which to provide best-in-class service to our customers.”
