A major data center developer has begun construction on a project near Washington, DC that will remake 463,212 square feet of office space into a data center totaling up to 943,600 square feet. Six new buildings ranging from two to four stories will be built on the site.
Galvan Industries is providing hot dip galvanizing for structural steel used in the project. Galvanizing offers decades of rust-free, maintenance-free service life, plus a clean, modern aesthetic that fits well in the high-tech environment.
The new data center is expected to employ up to 150 workers, with an investment of up to $500 million when completed.
