At Galvan, Christian Smith is a “Jack of all trades and a master of ALL.” When Christian joined Galvan Industries in 2021, he quickly began learning every job in the galvanizing plant, and how to do them all very well. From the pickle bath to running the galvanizing kettle, to operating robotic and cutting equipment, to leading a team as a crew chief, Christian has done it all.
Today, he oversees Quality Control, making sure that all work is done properly and every job meets the proper specifications for our customers.
Christian brings a strong combination of education and work experience to his position at Galvan. He studied Business Management at Pfeiffer University and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. Afterwards, he worked as a Manager for Food Lion.
Christian also spent several years at Commercial Vehicle Group, a manufacturer of vehicle electrical equipment, seating systems and plastic parts, where he was a CNC set-up technician, a thermoform set-up tech and a Shift Leader at the plant.
“We’re happy to have someone as knowledgeable and experienced in all types of manufacturing processes as Christian is working here at Galvan,” said company President Laurens Willard. “He is a valuable asset for our company and our customers.”
Christian is a graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School in Concord, NC and currently lives in Rowan County.
