Irving Consumer Products is building a new $400 million state-of-the-art tissue manufacturing plant in Macon, Georgia and Galvan Industries is playing an important role, protecting more than 2,000 tons of structural steel from corrosion with hot dip galvanizing.
Hot-dip galvanized steel is uniquely suited to withstand the constant exposure to harsh industrial environments, such as those in pulp and paper plants. Whether in contact with chemicals, water, oil, or other corrosive materials, hot-dip galvanized steel provides maintenance-free corrosion protection for decades.
Irving Consumer Products is one of North America’s leading manufacturers of paper products. The new plant will produce ultra-premium quality household paper products including soft bath tissue and high quality paper towels.
Construction will be completed in 2019. The plant will create over 200 permanent, skilled jobs and allow the company to continue to meet growing demand.
