Saturday, April 26th, was a great day in Harrisburg, NC, filled with optimism and the spirit of community. The town hosted its 18th Annual “Run the ‘Burg 5k, Fun Run and Health Expo” at Harrisburg Park on Sims Parkway.
The Harrisburg YMCA, the Rotary Club of Harrisburg, and Harrisburg Parks & Recreation partnered in presenting the event, along with several corporate sponsors, including Galvan Industries.
Hundreds of participants gathered to run the 3.1-mile course, with many others joining in the later 1-mile fun run and visiting sponsor tents.
The goal of the event is to promote healthy outdoor recreation and generate support for local businesses in Harrisburg. Galvan Industries has been a long-time supporter of “Run the ‘Burg”, and this year was no exception!
As a corporate sponsor once again, and Galvan employees (plus their families) showed up ready to run on race day! Other Galvan employees brought their best cheer leading skills and handed out race towels and waters to the runners.
Record involvement and funds raised show that “Run the ‘Burg” is a town event that’s here to stay!
As a part of the Harrisburg-area business community for more than 65 years, Galvan Industries will continue to lend its support and build strong working relationships with our neighbors.
